“Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.”
— Robert Fulghum, author
I graduated from the University of Cumberlands in May 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. Immediately after graduation I began working at Butler County Children Services as an intervention worker, conducting investigations and working with families to strengthen their homes. Over the 3 years in this position, I worked with hundreds of families, and helped to strengthen hundreds of homes, but I also developed a passion for the mental health aspect of families and children.
I am now working with CHOICES, Inc. in the home-based services department working as a family conflict resolution worker and providing therapeutic behavioral services. The primary reason that I made this switch was because I saw a need in the families that I worked with that I could not address, a need that can be addressed through the work we do here at CHOICES, Inc.
I have a passion for helping families work through difficult situations, helping families learn to communicate and work together, and helping parents remember that no matter how their child is acting they are being influenced by how the parent is reacting. I hope that I get the opportunity to help many families throughout our community in my position at CHOICES, Inc.
