Kate grew up in Erie, PA and attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She went on to attend Widener University outside of Philadelphia, PA, where she received her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD.) in 2006.

Kate is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Ohio. She has worked in a variety of settings providing therapy and assessment with an emphasis on children and adolescents. Kate began her career at Little Keswick School, a private therapeutic boarding school for boys near Charlottesville, VA. After moving to Annapolis, MD, she accepted a position with the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University. Kate took a few years off from her professional life to take care of her growing family after relocating to the Dayton area in 2015. In 2019, Kate joined Emerge Counseling, a private practice in Centerville, OH, where she provides therapy to children, adolescents and families. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, and involved in her children’s activities.

Kate and her husband Chris live in Centerville, Ohio with their 3 children. She enjoys watching her young children grow doing a variety of activities together as a family. Kate is an avid sports fan and has a special love for soccer and basketball. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Kate also enjoys hiking and exercising.

Kate was elected to the CHOICES Board of Trustees in 2020. She looks forward to bringing her expertise to help support the mission of the CHOICES programs.
