Hello my name is Angela Studebaker. I am a Home-Based Services Social Worker at CHOICES, Inc. I began my journey with CHOICES in October of 2007. I started out as a social worker in our foster care program serving families and youth in Springfield. About 2.5 years ago, I moved to our LTR program and began working with families in Cincinnati. I have been blessed to be a part of CHOICES for almost 11.5 years working side-by-side some of the best co-workers that are in this industry. The best part of working for CHOICES is the family atmosphere that we have not only among our employees but also are foster families and youth. I love being a part of an organization whose main objective is helping families and youth put the pieces together in whatever way we are able to that for them.
I went back to college later in life after my children were in high school which was a challenge. I graduated from Wright State University in May 2007 and obtained my LSW in July 2007; the exact date was on my birthday so “Happy Birthday to me.” Being a social worker in the foster care system has taught many things, but the one thing that stands out is the perseverance and strength that I have seen in so many of the youth that I have worked with over the years.
I have been married to my husband and best friend for 27 years, Tim and have two grown children, a son, Matthew and a daughter, Ashley who are the joy of my life. Three years ago, my son married and I now have a beautiful daughter-in-law, Alyssa. I have a cat named Pouncey and a German Shepherd named, Rooney; if you do not recognize these names, let me give you a hint: Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes, we named our pets after Steelers’ players! Our family is huge football fans and 3 out of 5 are Steelers fans!! I am also a diehard Reds fan. My relationship with Christ and my family are the two most important things to me.
