CHOICES is looking for a Foster Care Parent Assessor who is interested in building safe environments for youth in our community. The Foster Care Parent Assessor is part of a dynamic team, in Dayton Ohio, who interviews, trains and supports members of the community who are interested in becoming licensed foster parents. The Foster Care Parent Assessor should be motivated and able to work autonomously while becoming a part of the CHOICES family. The Foster Care Parent Assessor is responsible for getting to know potential foster parents and guiding them through the foster parent licensing process in preparation for a foster care placement.

Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)
• Responsible for licensing of new foster homes; one home per month, total of twelve homes per fiscal year.
• Delivery of pre-service training to prospective foster parents
• Learn and maintain current knowledge of ODJFS and agency foster care rules
• Manages beds within the foster home in Carelogic and SACWIS
• Completes system entries into Care Logic/SACWIS within required timeframes
• Conduct annual foster home reviews
• Complete full recertification of foster homes every two years
• Monitor and document rule violations for licensing issues – issue Corrective Action Plans for all violations.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum qualification is a BA or BS in social work or a related field
• One year experience working with children and families
• Valid drivers license, auto insurance and reliable transportation required
• Local travel required
• A passion for foster parents and youth in foster care
• Experience with writing home studies/training foster parents is preferred
